Ravioli

Snow Ice Cream

For all those lucky readers who do not live in Ohio the weather has been in the negatives on top of all the snow and ice we've gotten. We have now had four snow days in a row, and may be going a little stir crazy. Therefore, even though I'm not entirely sure how clean snow is (yes I did choose the white not the yellow) we made snow ice cream!

Here is the recipe:
4 cups of snow
1 cup of milk
1/4 cup of sugar
A splash of vanilla
Mix together and eat before it melts (that's the trick).

Alex was really excited, but seeing as the weather has been more than frigid I bit the bullet and went out to retrieve the snow.

Munchkin helped me mix the ingredients:
Milk

Sugar

Stir stir stir

Again, you must do this process fast because this fluffy goodness melts fast and becomes more like a sugary slushy. If is wasn't colder than the North Pole (literally) we could try making And eating it outside.

Melted or not this munchkin loved it...

Oh, and yes, just in case you noticed, she is wearing her very first track suit! Look out Olympic trials here she comes.

Christmas Cookies

The rush of christmas has finally calmed down, and now I can share this masterpiece. First of all, we had a great holiday filled with an abundance of family, friends, and memories. To top it all of I got a snow day on the first day I was supposed to return to work. Anyway, this post isn't about me or christmas, it's about the Lil Munchkin's ginderbread cookies...

OK, so I will admit we used a premade dough, but I knew all the other steps of cookie making were going to be enough work with a one-year-old so I gave in.

First, we rolled out the dough and Alex got pretty excited because she thought I was going to let her eat it.

Once we got started she really got the hang of pressing the cookie cutter into the dough, but then everytime I would pick it up with the spatula to put on the cookie sheet she was mad she couldn't eat it. I just kept reminding her that we had to cook them first.

Hey, I said no eating!

Well, like all little girls, this one's got to take a nap. You can tell how she feels about that.

Awake and ready to ice the cookies that baked while she was dozing.

Obviously, she was a natural at this!

             The finished product...

And, of course, the taste test...

I also cannot end this post without a little sneak peek into our christmas

Movies on Christmas Eve

Thanks to everyone who made Alex's second christmas so memorable!
