**Ok, this is a bit late, but better late then never I guess...
In my opinion the best part of the holidays are traditions! I remember the day I called my best friend, Jen, to tell her I was pregnant and her response was, "that's awesome, me too". That's kind of the way our lives go, and we love raising our little girls (two months apart) together. Therefore, this year we decided to start a new Christmas tradition with them.
GINGERBREAD HOUSES...
| Here are the girls patiently awaiting the house decorating |
| I bought a kit with four miniature houses, and Jen bought LOTS of candy. Neither one of us had ever made a Gingerbread house before, and we quickly figured out we would need to actually construct the house since those little two-year-old hands could probably not squeeze the icing in a perfect line on the side of a cracker (maybe some day). |
| My Munchkin... her theory was stick one, eat one. |
| My amazing mother even came to help! |
AND THE FINISHED PRODUCTS...
We even had cute little gingerbread dolls for them to practice their expert sorting skills (just a coincidence I already had these). While they played we made pizza for lunch, and caught up on a little mom talk.
| After the girls were finished sorting they decided to go into Munchkin's room and bring all the contents of it out into the living room (I stopped my daughter when I saw her arms were full of her entire sock drawer). |
| Her hugs are a little much sometimes, but she loves her friend... |
I cannot wait to see these two girls grow into amazing people, and I am glad that they will have each other to lean on just as I have Jen!
